Hyperdocs

This week we learned about hyperdocs. When doing research, I stumbled upon an amazing hyperdoc, with the main focus being students in kindergarten - 2nd. (Where I want to teach!) Hyperdocs are both fun and engaging, yet extremely educational. The hyperdoc I discovered was called "The Gingerbread Man" https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1POIbJJNc3gis_4ZQUPt6WQE9wEeFd3IxSlPYxVUKAUM/edit?slide=id.g2b5ab427d6_0_4#slide=id.g2b5ab427d6_0_4 (Take a look, you won't regret it.)

A few things that stood out to me about this hyperdoc was the way the education was laid out. The first thing to do was listen to the story through YouTube. Then came the activities. One of the fun activities was putting items on the gingerbread man. This helps children with their fine motor skills. Another fun activity was the math part. It was simple addition, but the student would get to move the correct answer into the box. I also loved that there were questions from the story, which helps student with both reading comprehension and critical thinking.

The final thing I absolutely loved about this hyperdoc was the theme and colors. The theme stayed the same throughout the entire presentation. This is a good thing to do with children so that they don't get distracted or over stimulated. The colors were also very subtle. They were easy to see and not too distracting.

Overall, this hyperdoc was something that amazed me and encouraged me. I will be making these for my classroom to keep learning fun and engaging. Definitely go take a look at "The Gingerbread Man" if you haven't done so already!
