With the advancement of digital technology in today’s learning environments, teachers continue to find ways to execute their lessons to be more interactive, flexible and student centered. One such tool that is transforming the landscape is the use of HyperDocs.
What is a HyperDoc?
A HyperDoc is an interactive digital document created by teachers to provide students with an engaging learning experience. The lesson plans are designed in a way that encourages students to be collaborative, creative and fosters exploration. Whilst researching I came across this HyperDoc Multiplication-doc which is a game changer in learning multiplications. As a university student who is still scared of math I can see how this approach to learning and understanding could have helped me when I was in elementary school.
Why HyperDocs Work
With the introduction of HyperDocs in the classroom it shifts the focus from teachers giving instructions to students being allowed to discover. Instead of students listening they are free to explore, apply and reflect at their own pace. Teachers can embed creative tasks, videos and articles in an easy to navigate document.
HyperDocs are absolutely a game changer in teaching as in today’s technological world teachers are empowered to move away from the traditional blackboard and static worksheets to bring lessons to life that keeps students engaged with lessons in one organized interactive digital place which makes it easier for both teachers and students to manage and navigate.
